2026 Bathurst Adventure

Who, What, Where, Why

It's a long story, but the shortened version is that ever since 1969 when my Dad took the family to Mt Panorama to watch the "Hardie Ferodo" as it was known then, I have had a soft spot for the circuit. I'm not interested in other types of car races such as Grand Prix's or Formula 1. Back then you could walk into a car showroom with a fistfull of cash, say "I want to buy the car that won Bathurst" and they would sell you one. (Not that I could afford one that is).

The mystique of the Mt Panorama circuit is tangible to some, especially those who grew up watching the race. Having driven around it in both directions and various vehicles, seeing how the road rises, falls, dips and turns - I have a great admiration for the people that do it at 180+Kms/hr.

I have had the opportunity to visit for the race on a number of occasions in both work and non-work capacities, and this will probably be one of the last times I will be able to take advantage of being able to see the race live. For those who have been on previous "Bathurst Adventures" with our group, we don't always do it in style, but we always do it stylishly.
